Hi Jim,

It's all going to depend upon what kind of shape the kit is in.
These drums sound incredible, but the shells have tendencies to crack where they are drilled.
Th Ludwig Vistalites are probably my favorite line of drums ever made, I had a set for years and I loved them....but they started cracking, and that was it. I let them go for a song to a guy who just used them as his practice set at home.
It's all going to depend on how scratched they are, whether they have any cracks, the condition of the hardware, and THE COLOR!

You almost can't give the blue ones away, and you almost can't find the Amber ones(which is what Bonham used). Ludwig quit making the sets, because the shells kept cracking.

So if you're thinking about buying some-consider this a warning.
If you are seriously into Acrylic drums, take a look at Zicko's. They have them in different colors, and the shells are alot better than the old ones...I'm not sure why, But I guess the Plastics ar available are just alot better.

A standard 5 piece Acrylic kit won't fetch anymore than a standard Ludwig 5-piece kit....It's the Bonham kits (26" Kick, 13" or 14" Mounted, 16" & 18"Floors) which get the big money...and only then if it's in the Amber color.

Hi Tim, actually I was given the drums. They are blue, no cracks. 24" kick,18"tom.15&14 rack toms. I was thinking of traDING THEM FOR A MORE "STUDIO" type of set, Jim

Well, what do you mean by "more studio", do you mean smaller?

I personally use 15",18" and 20" toms, and a pair of 28" Kick drums. Why? I just didn't like the sound I was getting from smaller drums...I was after a more original type of sound.
Everybody these days , for the most part, seems to be using the exact same types of drums...and ot me it's bringing about a very generic drumsound.
They use little drums, and tune them really low, whereas I use big drums and tune them high.
