low

This one has some real potential. I'll start with what I like:

The vocal instrumentation is superb. It's not cutesy or silly, it's really good!

Very catchy melody and nice rythm.

The end is *perfect*. The song length again is perfect. Weren't you one of the guys who criticized me for short songs? Maybe I need to check my facts :)

The things I don't care as much for:

I think that this song could have made more of an impact if the lyrical vocals had been less dramatic and more sober. It sounds too acted which can detract from the delivery of your message.

Still can't hear the vocals well enough to make out all the words. You've got a lot of room to play with just a vocal line and guitar. You say this is from an "album" so the songs are probably set (If you're like me, you finish a song and then it's just damn done), but in the future you might start experimenting with your mixes a little more.

All in all I really like it. *Loved* the vocal instrumentation.

Dobro,

I am still here. I opened my can of whoop-ass so that there would be no quiestion of the file that was 24 bits.

First off, I really liked this song. I love melancholy. I also prefered the vocal sound. Given this situation, it would have been easy for me to say that low was the 24 bit version simply because it had less noise and a better vocal.

BUT. I have not heard the third mp3 yet, so I cant tell you if these two are 16 bits or if they are both 24 bits, but one thing I can tell you is...

with my can of whoop-ass(Lucid genx6) opened , without a doubt, LOW sounded more real. The guitar sounded more real, the vocal sounded less flat. I could not reach all the way to the end of the space, but I could reach farther than tip. In short, low had more 3 dimensional depth and low level detail. It sounded less smeared, not to talk of a better vocal sound(which can be mainly attributed to positioning and equalization).

Now, I am ready to hear the third file and make my final judgements.
