Low frequencies "boomin" on vocal

re: the hardwood floor thing. I was thinking the OP was in a typical residential wood frame house, like mine. Sounds from outside can transfer through the walls to the joists to the floorboards. In a pro studio, the hardwood floors are almost certainly not connected to the outside in any way resembling a residential house. Just my 2 cents regarding something I read. It's cool.

In fact when my brother moved out, I moved all my guitar/audio gear out of my room (wall to wall carpeting) to the 10x10 office with hardwood floors. I haven't done a lot of recording with mics in there as it probably isn't the best acoustic environment. I like it for playing guitar as it isn't as dead and dull as my bedroom is. I also know my house is about as sound proof as a cardboard box. Are the floors loudspeakers? They might as well be
