:) Hi to all music and sound lovers,

I've only fairly recently put up my Soundclick page so only one track at present, although there will be more coming, slowly but surely, as time goes on (probably during the next couple of weeks). There's some band history info etc – possibly interesting for some to read. You can play the track as streaming Hi-Fi, as well as download the FREE mp3 if you like it.

The title of the track is: 'Love Will Not Die When My Heart Stops Beating' (click on this title on the music page of my Soundclick and you'll see a bit more info and the short lyrics).

My Soundclick page link is:

I was up against a deadline with not much time to write and record this, so in the end I had to offer it in it's slightly flawed and fragile form, bare for the world to hear. It's probably the strangest sounding song I've ever done and is on the more experimental side of things.

For this one I ditched the guitars and synths and instead used only vocals, violin, arpa magica, electronic treatments and looped heartbeat skindrum. It may not be your thing but I hope you like it, or will at least be interested in giving it a listen.

In late Feb I was amazed when it reached no.2 in the Alternative-Experimental genre chart (out of 22,263 songs currently listed in that sub section) and also reached no.15 in the main Alternative chart (out of 104,923 songs currently listed in that main section). It's gives me a real buzz to know that people have been playing and hopefully enjoying it.

If you can, it's better to listen on headphones at a reasonable volume, as there are subtleties in the background and plenty of swinging sounds between speakers, the bass response is better also (well, on my headphones at least).

Thanks for reading this far and I'd be keen to hear anyone's comments (I think!!! ).
Over and way out for now.

Honestly, it sounds like a lot more effort went into the title than the song.

Cool sounds, though.

This started out sounding like the soundtrack to one of those horrid 'B' flicks Vincent Price wishes he hadn't starred in. It went downhill after the vocals started.

I listened until the 3 minute mark, and had to stop.

I may have nightmares now.
No joke.

Actually I think this is one of the more original things I've heard here. It looses some interest at the 2 minute mark or so... but I liked it.

I think it's cool. Very sound designy. For some reason I think of David Bowie when I hear it. Like this song picks up after Major Tom leaves off... he's floating in space waiting to die. Weird. The end reminds me of the end of Jesus Christ Superstar, creepy!

I honestly didn't like it. It was creative though I guess. The background effects are pretty cool. I think the vocals just don't sound good. I barely made it to 2:30. It got real boring. I read the lyrics on the SoundClick page and thought they were good though.

 WOW !!!

I've received some strongly opposing responses here, which I actually find very interesting. One man's meat is another man's poison, as they say. Luckily it's a free world and we're all allowed to express our points of view and hopefully no-one gets upset.

:D The best thing about posting here, which I really appreciate, is the honesty of the feedback and some of it is very funny – it gave me a good laugh. Even though it's been quite negative, in some strange way it makes me feel more positive about my music, as I choose not to compromise in any way when I want to try something different. Some folks will get what I do and others won't, it's as simple as that, and it's good to know that a couple of people here have actually 'got it' so far.

I do what feels right to me and don't worry about what others might think. I'm going my own way and trying to create something with a spark of originality and atmosphere, which is more than I can say for some of the other music I've heard on various websites. Plenty of people seem to just tread the same old worn out boards, but that's their desire so good luck to them. Or are they just stuck in a rut of their own making and afraid to try anything different, just in case others don't like it – who knows!

The reference to David Bowie is interesting, as others who don't know me have also made that connection. I really like the thought of it carrying on from Major Tom. It's funny because Bowie wasn't on my mind when I recorded this track, but he has been an influence over the years, so it must have crept in somehow.

I've had plenty of very positive feedback on other site forums and from various people, so it's just a matter of personal taste at the end of the day. An honest thanks for your own honesty in the feedback, but it would be nice to hear a few more positives on this forum to balance it out more – anyone else out there who actually likes my track enough to say so?

My tracks can be very different to each other and they don't all come under the experimental genre, so those of you who didn't like this at all may be surprised when you hear some of the other stuff and you never know, you may even like it! ;)

until later,
Garden of Surreal Dreams

Any more thoughts on this track that seems to attract quite opposing views?
