I bought an intelix psychologist matrix mixer, and I noticed that each preamp box has a db-25 connector (I believe....it's 12 pins on the top row and 13 on the bottom).

I'm wondering if I can use these as direct outs, and if anyone know anything about this. I was hoping to use them as direct outs to a multitrack set up. Is there such thing as a db-25 to 8 different rca's or 1/4" cables? Kinda lost on this one...

Thanks!

You can terminate DB25 connectors to just about any audio connector you want. As far as the direct outs goes.... you will have to refer to your manual for just exactly what the DB25 connections function is. If you do decide to go with a db25 cable, send me a PM and i will send you a quote. I am used to ordering the DB25's because my current console has 68 db25 connections;)

I do have the cable, and coming out the other side are sixteen small wires coresponding to each channel....so does that mean analog audio is running through them and I could wire them to 1/4" or rca?

The manual should also be able to give you the pinout configuration for soldering plugs onto the leads:)

The one thing I don't know how to do is check and see if something is balanced or unbalanced. For example, if I hooked up one channel to a 1/4", could I plug it into a 1010 pci card in my pc? It only has 2 wires per channel, so that's unbalanced, right? But the manual seemed to....fuck I'll just try and read more.

hrrmmmm...

I'm have the 8001VC....

I'll email them. I'm wondering if it has a mic preamp, and whether or not I'll be able to hook up the output from the connector to a 1/4" or if it's at mic level, which I kinda think it is for some reason. Doesn't seem to have specs on the pin output.

Hey there again myself! I found it on that site...there's a switch for line level output. Nice...but I still will need to test and see if that includes the freaky output pins.
