I'm having a problem running my mixer into my soundcard. I'm losing valuable recording volume. The signal goes into the card from the mixer with plenty of volume, but is cut drastically upon playback. Does anyone else have this problem? I bring up the levels as far as I can go while maintaining sound quality before I mix, but then can only get it up to the level I want by increasing the volume after recording which increases noise. I know it isn't the mixer's fault or the chords, because when I go straight to tape the volume is perfect. Do I just have a bad soundcard? Will a better soundcard fix this? Can I fix this problem without more equipment? Help please!

check your soundcard playback volumes ... make sure your wave volume is right up.. sounds very simple , but its a good starting point ...
