I have a whole bunch of sound samples and have no idea where to put them.
Mixcraft 5 comes with thousands of samples and stores them in an appropriate folder. So that's not a problem but I also have Cold Fusion, Technologic and Amplitube which comes with a whole host of loops. I'm sure I have others kicking around in shoe boxes too.
Could some of you educate me on these, please.
At the end of the day, I'd like to be able to access all of my sounds through Mixcraft. Probably drop a little acoustic guitar on the occasional track.
Thanks in advance.

Okay:
It's the last time I'll bump this thread but I'm sure a little help from one of you would make things easier for me.

cannae help you

I use Ableton and it has a browser so I keep all my samples together and any kontakt library stuff on a seperate hard drive and just access them through the browser

hang on mixcraft 5 does have a browser...isnt it the details tab? have you tried just dropping your other loops in the same folder as mixcrafts?

Just came up from the studio after checking that very thing. Actually, I was about to go into the Acoustica forum and ask.
I think I've found the Mixcraft loops in there. Lots of guitar, drum etc. sounds.
Lots of samples from other software all over the place and some of them in the wrong place entirely from what I can see.
Truth be known kcearl, my head is spinning from trying to figure it out.
I would open each folder in Cold Fusion and drag each file into the appropriate Mixcraft folders. Is that right?
Or go into Mixcraft and import them through the browser?

I think it would be best to divide your third party ones to appropriate Mixcraft folders, drag and drop not import them...ie drums, keys, strings etc. for cleanliness and quick reference...but I would imagine you can just drop the whole folder in as well if you wanted and go by brand name...

best do a test with a couple of loops first before dropping in 5 gigs of loops in or anything like I would :)

I dont have mixcraft but as its one of the easir programmes to get a grip with they shouldnt make it much more difficult than that

Thanks. I've asked at their forum too.

You know, they've just added effects tracks (A huge improvement) and a mixer without changing the face of the DAW at all. They have dumbed down the green look a little though. :D)

and video, and notation

soon you'll have all the bloated shite that you didnt want the day you went for mixcraft in the first place :D

I forgot about the video and that's the point. They've done it without changing the face of Mixcraft.
Anyway, changing the browser settings is not an option. It warns you that if you do so, you'll have to re-download all of the Mixcraft loops.
And sure enough.... I do!:laughings:
On the brighter side; I can still drag those and any other sound samples into Mixcraft and play them so I'm learning.
Ah well! Got to take the modem down to the studio now.
Left you some reputation credits for your trouble.
Thanks.
