I got one of these drum CD's and it has 700 drum samples.. It says 'individual hits and loops from 95bpm to 160bpm in Wave and Audio'

I popped it into my Cd player (non computer) and there were some great sounds and loops.. The loops only played for a few seconds..

It seems like I would need ACID or one of those programs, but I'm no technical wizard when it comes to programming.. In fact, I am a moron..

Here's my question..

Is there a free program that I can download that will enable me to make the loops go longer? so then I can export it as a wave and burn it to a CD as audio, and then load it into my stand alone recorder... OR, do I just have to go out and buy ACID and shut the hell up about it..

Any help or thoughts about any of this?

Wasssup Black Sabbie!

This ain't gon' help you much, but I've got several of those C/D's
and I loop them to Boss SP202 Sampler for continous play and efx processing.

Sorry, didn't mean to waste your time!

Sam,

Get ahold of N-Track or some other free editor... Thats all you need...

Loop them in there and make them as long as you need.. Add some of the fills in etc, and do your thang with them...

Then Burn them on a CD as a Audio or Wav File and Load them into your unit..

Should work good and N-Track is Free... (Well, the version that you will be needing to do this stuff is free)

Good luck man..

Agreed,
You can use vitually any audio multitrack program to do this task. You can simply load the sample and copy it or repeat it as many times as you wish and convert it to a new full length file.

thanks!

good suggestions! I'm downloading the acid demo, and I'm going to look for an N-Track download right after this.. MISTERQCUE, I searched for the Boss SP202 Sampler but all I was able to find was the 303.. I'll be heading to Guitar Center by the weekend (the latest) and I'll try that out, or by ACID.. I'm going to mess with the Acid demo tomorrow, and then N-Track.. Gidge, the Acid 'Latin' is easier than the regular ACID? I need to find the most user friendly method possibe. (mentally challenged) I'll try the SP units this weekend as well..

Thanks again for the suggestions MQ2,VOX,Stealth,Gidge! I really am going to try them all..

B.SABBATH..............

If you have any Acid questions, feel free to ask me about them ( I do most of my music production in that program).

Peace...

Acid Latin is the same version (2.0)...the only difference is the included samples, which suck anyway.....

The 303 is just a cosmetically-altered upgrade of the 202!

thanks again for the help.. here's where I'm at..

A friend of mine gave me the original ACID to try.. I guess it's the first version.. It seems to be doing what I want it to do, but I have a question..

Do you have to use loops that are all in the same tempo? It doesn't seem like you can mix loops of different tempo because it starts to sound screwed up..

Is there a way to mix and match loops of different tempos?

thanks again for the help and tips..

ahh.. the good old days.. Drive-in movies.. Lemonade Stands.. ACID 1.0. Congratulations. You've stumbled across the program that popped my Home Recc'n cherry.

I think if you wanna mix loops of different tempos, there should be a transposing option in the track properties. I used to throw tons of loops in her at different tempos. She LOVED it.

Wow.. absence does make the heart grow fond.. You don't mind if I take her out for a spin do ya? I mean, if you're like , going steady, I understand. Besides, her little sister ACID 3.0 is pretty sweet too...

You can download Acid Xpress 3.0 here . It's free!

cool! I downloaded but didn't install it yet..

I'm still having a problem mixing tempos in ACID v.1.. Is this something that can be done with later versions?

Can someone answer this, is it impossible to mix and match tempos within the same song or change the tempo of a prerecorded loop? Whenever I do this the loop starts to sound wrong.. I have been getting the best results when I use the 'loop tempo,' but that's very limiting..

SPIN? Gidge?

thanks James! I downloaded a bunch. Are there any other sites like that? I guess I have to keep searching..

Excuse me if I'm wrong but...

I could of swore you said you had Sonar in another post somewhere.
If that's the case that's all you need.
Was I wrong about that?

hey acid, yeah I have sonar, but the only thing it's used for is to run waves plug ins.. I record on a 788 portastudio, and then burn a disc to rip the wave from, and import that into sonar.. I barely know how to use sonar because my sound card is garbage and I have a user friendly stand alone.. I'm pretty challenged when it comes to some of this crap (sure that's obvious by now).. I'm going to check out sonar right now and see what I can find.. thanks

You don't need a sound card.Import the files right from the disc.Sonar can groove quantise and all tohse other cool things taht acid does and more.
