I have just starting recording on my home computer,
I use a terratec phase88 recording device and I own a Shure SM57.
The Problem is..I record by Plugging the mic into the phase88 which is connected to my computer.
I cannot amplify the sound alot and I am looking for a device to allow me to give the input more volume.
Does anyone know any products or have any suggestions?
Thanks for any help in advance!

thanks for the reply,
is there any preamps you would recommend?
I'm just recording at home.

How much do you have to spend on one? The M-Audio DMP3 and Studio Projects VTB1 are popular budget preamp choices around here.

On the ultra cheap side ($80), an M-Audio Audiobuddy is good. It makes a good di box too. Only thing I could bitch about with this one is that the phantom power is'nt a full 48v, which may be a problem with some condensor mics. There is also the mixer option. You could get one of this little cheapo behringer mixers that should work fine.
