Yup, here for £20. It's £7 shipping though, but that is for everything you buy, so don't just buy the mic

I have a Shure 550L desktop paging mic that I eventually want to wire the press-to-talk switch on the mic so that it controls the talk-to-cue relay on my mixer. I haven't gotten around to it yet, unfortunately.

I suppose this doesn't really help much, either.

I've heard some horror storied about ordering from Thomann plus it's their own brand of mic... T-Bone which I've tried a few of and never ever liked to £27 inc. Shipping is a bit pricey.

The Shure 515 series may fit the bill.

Thomann are amazing!! £7 shipping on everything you buy as long as it ain't something huge like a piano. I have 4 t.bone mics, lol. Use them for live. Sounds as good as any other mic(for live use anyway). I ordered £400+ of equipment for my PA from thomann(including stage monitors, etc). It was all the cheapest stuff i could find on the net. The order arrived within 4-5 days like they said. Ok, one of the monitors failed to work, but i told them about it and they were extremely appologetic and arranged to have the couriers come pick it back up and take it back to Germany and they will ship out a new one as soon as they receive it, no extra cost. Must've cost them a bunch to do.

I have the t.bone BD300(£35), 2 t.bone SC300(£20 each), and the t.bone MB75, sm57 copy(£25 with 6m XLR lead). Used them at the last gig and they sounded great(I'm not experienced with many mics though). Plus, yours is only for a talkback mic.

Yes it is, but like your duff monitor that arrived I don't want to chance it on one of their own mics. I can do without the hastle of them arrainging a courrier to collect it if it turns up faulty and having to wait for them to recieve it back before posting me out another one...... Another horror story to add to the list.

I wouldn't call it a horror story. Who cares, they're a great company in my opinion. It can happen with any company.

Yeah it can. That's why I'm looking for advice on what MIC and not what company. If I know what I'm looking for I can check my local dealers who I KNOW have a good returns policy. If they don't have anything in stock atleast I'll know what to ask them to order me in.....plus there's the bonus of actualy being in the shop, seeing and testing what I'm buying before I bring it home..... but thanks for the halp Panda :)

No probs. Where do you go locally? Only good musical shop I really know in Glezga is McCormacks, but i don't think they have much in the way of recording equipment(that I've noticed anyway)

Sound Control, down stairs has the big PA & Recording equipment layout...... stairs are at the back of the shop between the electric guitar & acoustic guitar parts, that's on Jamaica street

Or...

Academy Of Sound...ask for Big Stevie, they're on Otago Street up at Kelvinbridge...recently bought over By Sound Control but still operating under their own name and management. Specialise in soundcards/monitors/outboard/mics with a smaller guitar & amplification setup aswell.

Then you've got less recording specific (but all cheaper than McCormacs) places like Guitar Guitar up at the Barras end of Argyle Street, The Guitar Store, Argyle Street by central station and ofcourse good old Victor Morris who specialises in buying in stolen equipment for very little wonga and passing it on for a huge return just a little further up Argyle street near the kingston bridge end.

Ohh wait, yeah I've been to both Sound Control, and Academy of Sound. I totally forgot about them. Thanks for reminding me. :D They are both pretty good. McCormacks is ok price wise for instrumnets(if you have a members card).

I'm not sure if you have Radio Shack there, but they have a nice one for $25.00 on a gooseneck with an XLR at the end. It's painted flat black and is a simple dynamic mic
