I've got my CD project on a Mackie hard disk that I've taken from the original recording studio and brought to another studio for mixing. The new studio (in Brookline, NH) has a Mackie MDR system and Pro Tools. The guy there backed up all my files on his internal drive and is now converting them to Pro Tools files before mixing. This has worked fine until just recently when I took my hard disk to a third studio (Baked Beans in Maine) to have piano tracks added to 2 of the songs. After the piano was recorded I brought the hard disk back to the Brookline studio and the tracks don't seem to be there. After talking to the guys at Baked Beans a couple of times it seems that the problem might be with the type of Mackie used. Baked Beans has a Mackie HDR, which could read everything that had been recorded at the original studio and the new piano tracks, but apparently the MDR in Brookline could only read the original files which we are assuming were recorded using an MDR (I haven't confirmed this yet). So, if this makes sense, then I need to find a studio somewhere nearby that has both a Mackie HDR and Pro Tools so that I can have the 2 songs with the new piano tracks converted to Pro Tools, which I can then bring back to the Brookline studio to have mixed. I'm near Keene, NH but spend a lot of time in Boston, so either area will work or anywhere in between. Is there someone out there with this setup?
