Looking for Mac savi and cubase know it all

so my issues IS! i got cubase 5 and currently have version 5.0.1 every time i try to download the new patch (5.5.0) i open the installer and my Mac tells me ( you need to have cubase 5 installed on your computer) clearly i do..... i need help on fixing this issue please and thank you

have you tried re-installing cubase?

I know it sounds stupid but I had a hell of a time as well 2 years ago as well trying to get cubase and the patch running. I had un-installed, re-installed, so many times and the all of a sudden it worked.

Also just make sure your selecting the correct patch. You can also try a earlier patch, and then work your way up numerically.
