I shot a documentary in Lebanon recently, about the Dizzy Gillespie All-Star Big Band performing in the Bekaa Valley - working title is "Bebop in Baalbeck".
A Beirut-based sound engineer recorded our two live shows (about 2.5 hours each) using a Fostex D2424 digital recorder. I have music recorded onto three 60GB D2424 hard drives. I need access to that same Fostex model to download the digitized media into a Pro-Tools environment. Fostex created a proprietary wave form, so there's no workaround and no other gear will work, as far as I've learned.
Do you know of anyone with a D2424 in the NY area available for rent or purchase? I have access to a Pro-Tools suite; I just need the Fostex for a day to output the recordings. Please let me know if you have any ideas.
