Hi everyone,

I’ve been working on a deep / melodic electronic release and would really appreciate some honest feedback from people here.

The idea was to build a late-night flow: it starts with deeper house / melodic techno tracks around 124–128 BPM, then slowly moves into a darker techno mood near the end. I wanted it to feel steady, atmospheric and groove-focused rather than too commercial.

I’m especially interested in feedback on:

  • the overall flow of the tracks
  • whether the transition into darker techno feels natural
  • the mood / arrangement
  • anything that could be improved from a songwriting or production point of view

Thanks in advance — honest opinions are welcome.

I had a listen.
I'll refrain from being over critical.
It is just not my thing.

I'm with Raymond.

Techno really doesn't do anything for me. The constant driving programmed beats get boring fast. The tracks don't have melody, something that is memorable. I could never see a situation where I would put a CD with this style of music in the car and hit the road. About the closest I would ever come would be ZZ Top's Eliminator album, although it has the added elements of vocals and guitars to make songs, not just sound effects. Think about it... I can sing along with Legs or Give Me All Your Loving. There's nothing in Dossieur or Gennero that you can pick out as a melody you could hum or sing.

It would probably work great for a modern dance club with a bunch of 20yr old ladies strutting their stuff. But I don't frequent clubs with DJs and twirling light shows. I haven't been in such a club is over 40 years.

My preference it a small club with a few musicians on a stage playing music: blues, rock, folk, bluegrass, even country.
