Looking for certain Bass Sound

Im trying to figure out what type of device or pedal gives you that Bootsy Collins type of bass sound. If anybody is familiar with the first Outkast album Southern Playalistic,, they had the same sound all over it. It was also in Booty's song " Id Rather be with you"

Any ideas?

Electro Harmonix makes several good ones- Q-Tron, Mini Q Tron, NYC Bassballs. Bootsy Collins is known to use the Q-Tron.

I have been searching the net all day. Mostly doing searches about Bootsy Bass effects. He really does some wierd stuff with his setups. Im only looking for this one sound for now. Im trying to find the cheapest route since Im not really a highly experienced bass player.
