Just another guy, really.
Lately, two, or maybe it's three, of the 212's we have in the rehearsal studio have crapped out. An older Peavey Stereo Chorus, and a much newer Fender FM212. The Fender pisses me off the most, but I guess it shouldn't- you can tell the thing is cheaply made, even with your eyes closed and it unplugged- it's just not very beefy. The Line 6 Spider 212 is probably not gonna be any more durable than the FM212. I think the vintage SF Twin Reverb is ailing, too. Now, the damage is covered by the lease the renters sign- they may have a surprise in for them when they want to terminate their lease- but really, we'd rather not have to go that route.
So, anybody have experience with a 212 that is "roll down the stairs" robust? Or at least dirt-cheap and reasonably reliable? Actually, I think the 212's that succumbed did so because they were pushed too hard, rather than being used as bowling balls, so that is the kind of abuse I am hoping to address.
Oh, it could be a head, too, seeing as we now have some spare 212 cabs...
Thanks.
