Each article will be only 500-750 words and should be geared to beginners who are just starting out making beats. Introducing the basics of beat making and tips.

Man to be honest... that's some bullshit. You wanna make beats. Find yourself a sequencer (everyone loves Fruity loops). put your kicks on 1 and 3 and snares on 2 and 4 to start. play around with what sounds good (maybe even ad a hat!). Get yourself a cheap keyboard to learn how to write a bass line (you can do this in fruity loops too but the keyboard is a little easier to write something on). learn maybe some BASIC music theory. maybe learn what a major and minor scale are at least...
Now what else you do with it depends on the style your after... I like samples. Some don't. What ever you do just keep up doing that for a while and when you know how to make a beat like nothing then you can spend some time making a GOOD beat. which is the same but has much more to do your creativity than anything someone can write you in an article.
Didn't mean anything personal by this but I hate seeing all these people so unwilling to just jump in. I mean it's about as hard as playing bass. You can learn it in no time. But mastering it will take the rest of your free time

I took it as he was putting together possibly a website, or compiling tutorials to sell/give to beginners being as he was specific on 500-750 words in article form.

Yes, this will be for a website which is why I would be willing to pay you for your time or provide a link to your website if you have one.
mrT - From what I have read in this forum it seems like there is many members who know quite a bit about producing beats plus I am only looking for articles geared towards beginners. If you know of a better place let me know! Also from the little blurb you wrote it sounds like you would be a good canidate let me know if you are interested in making a little money of the side.

I know that you'r not saying dudes are wacked, but I think collectively you can get some good info here. Especially Newbies...........I get your point as far as finding a better place for info, but what better place than here?
I think KTHAMAN probably observed posts before forming an opinion and I think he like what he read, so that is why he's asking. I think you dudes should feel proud that people dig your knowledge!

I am a member of quite a few forums and am in the process of adding one geared towards gear on a site I'm working on also (hoping some of yall will join and even moderate). They all bring something different to the table, I personally like this forum here probably the best because it isn't full of inflated ego's (or atleast as much as others). Not many of us, if any, really have any high-end gear or major discography here in the Rap forum so it's a bit easier to relate to eachother and share help considering a lot of us run into the same problems. Feedback here is also more in the lines of creative criticizm rather than bashing. It's true a lot of people don't have things that are up to par here but we are all humble, no one that's a regular will say "your sh*t f*cking sucks, you have no talent". Instead it's more like "I didn't like the way that this sounds because of..., you should work on...", also feedback is given and received on a regular here. So it differs from site to site, but I think the regulars here help make it productive community.
I also like gearslutz, but in the hip-hop section people come off 'snobbish' towards newbies which can be discouraging to some. Newbies are welcomed here (as long as they have a sip of that act-rite before they post...LOL).

I am not one who venture out to many other music forum, so I have nothing to compare it against. I mean, I have went to the propellerhead site and a couple of others. If you know of any other good one's let me know.....

i would do it but my beats aint good enough yet to be tellin people wat they should do...... if u ever get into articles on writing lyrics, working on flow or delivery or anything like that let me know cause i could really help there..........
