so ive been experimenting and searching for a tutorial on how to create an 808 drop

i have yet to be able to find one, so if someone can point me in the direction of a tutorial, or explain to me how it is created, this would be great

muchas gracias

I guess you could use an 808. :p

Or download a sample. There are tonnes of 808 samples out there on the net. Google is your friend. :)

If you're actually talking about making one, I guess you could take a sample of a fairly heavy bassdrum sound, stretch it, and pitchshift it on a gradient.

Personally though, I'd just download a sample. The thing about and 808 drop is that it's called an 808 drop because it comes from an 808. The sample you get off of the internet is just a sample of an 808 playing an 808 drop. If you made one yourself, without an 808 it wouldn't be an 808 drop, it'd just be a drop. :p

Oh i guess you could also download an 808 emulating VST instrument, or kit for a drum sampler. I'm pretty sure I have an 808 kit for Battery.

yea its named after the roland 808 lol

umm yea well i guess ill go find an 808 emulator, but can a normal synth do a bass drop

cause thats all im looking for not particularly an 808, im jsut tryign to make a bass drop but i have NO idea how

Doesn't have to be a synth and probably wouldn't be. VST instruments are a bit more than synths.

Check out www.kvraudio.com , they have a massive database of plugins. there's a lot of awesome freeware there. You're bound to find something.

Give this a try http://www.kvraudio.com/get/3107.html

I'm not sure if it's what you're looking for but it's free so no harm in giving it a go.

I did a search that created this list on kvr. Might be worht have a flick through. There's probably 4 or 5 pages of them there and they're all free.

I'm assuming you're using windows so just set it to search for VST's.
