PC load letter?
The idea of the mini-DAC is really great, and I heard the D/A is astounding, but it's about $1000 and can handle a number of of digital inputs I don't need. I'm looking for something that can hook up to the computer via firewire or usb and give me an output, on the level of motu d/a or better, to mackie hr824s, as well as physical volume knob or fader. I say usb and firewire as a strong preference to leave me open to hooking up to a laptop, but I would take a pci-card if necessary.
I'm selling my motu 24i among other things to a group of kids starting a studio, I simply do not have the time anymore to sitin on long tracking sessions anymore. I'm keeping my monitors so that I can mix theirs and other's projects. Unfortunately that's about as deep into recording I can afford to be, at least time wise, right now.
thanks,
Eric
