I currently have a quad core pc and digi003 though want to connect a ad/da to my digi003 digitally. I know that the digi003 is not set up with SMUX, however I believe I can still by pass the digi convertors if I connect via spdif,
and thus be able to record up to 48khz (I only use 44.1 mostly anyway so this aint a problem) with the quality of the stand alone convertor. Can I expect something professional for an outlay of £2-£3000 pounds sterling or do I need to stretch to £10,000 on lavry gold? If so which convertors are used most by pro studios in this price range? I would prefer the unit to have 16 ins, though 8 may suffice for now if I can daisy chain upto 16 later.
