Good luck. We have our main router in the house, and an access point wired to it via Cat5 which is in the window of the living room, facing the street. My wife has her office in a cottage catty-corner across the street, maybe 50 yards, and another wireless access point is in its front window, line-of-sight with the one in this house. Her laptop has a wireless card.
The net result? Under ***perfect*** atmospheric conditions (no clouds, no rain, no Martian zeta rays) she can get online from her laptop in the cottage.
The distance claims for wireless are highly exaggerated. I sure wouldn't depend on it for anything critical.
