Good song Steve. A little long, so I'd recommend a break somewhere. 
What is that instrument properly called that is played behind the chorus? The board with strings that makes the trademark country sound. I never remember what it's called. They always tell but I forget.
The Bass is a tad loud for country. Unless you wanna raise the drums.
Drums, I'd say raise the drums a little bit. As in the kick and the snare a little. The hats cymbals sound ok.
The vocals are pretty cool. I'd say lower them a couple of db units and add distance somehow. Maybe some reverb or something.
If I was sitting on the porch with a Rolling Rock and this song came on the radio, I'd enjoy it.
