Worked on a couple of tunes today.
Remixed a whole bunch of things based on the previous comments. Let me know how this version sounds.

:D:D:D:D

Ido,
the remix puts a more uniform emphasis on the riff at the beginning that was a little unsteady before. It makes much more sense now with the drums pushing the same points.
The low notes seem to have have become a little lost on the bass. The root note on the runs seems to blend with the guitar and most specifically the kick drum.
Everything else is fine.
Good work!

The vocals fit this style and song perfectly. Great bluesy kind of voice, kudos to the singer. That voice is Austin-ready :)

The clean-ish guitar sounds a little dry to me, like it was recorded direct or something. Although I've been auditioning dozens of reverbs today so my ears are awash in halls, auditoriums, plates, springs, and cathedrals. But it needs a little something, although I can't quite put into words what it is. Ambience, maybe? Like it needs to be in the same room with the drummer and bassist...or in a room at all. It has that "direct to the board" live recording feel to it, where some of the dynamics kind of stick out from time to time. Great playing, though!

The drums stumble a bit in the intro (just a bit) but they fall into a terrific groove after that.

Great groove, great song you've got going. Love the chorus lyrics, that's just great Texas blues to me. This sounds like a practiced bar band. The mix sounds good and balanced to my ears, nothing sticks out on first listen. Maybe a touch more bass guitar would be all.

I liked this too, great blues with a little grit! I especially liked the way the lead played off the rhythm guitar and I probably focused on that too much. I agree the bass was not as present as I would have liked, but I think it was more a matter of body than volume, maybe find a nice mid freq for the bass to nudge? I like the mix otherwise, very good sound and great vocal, reminded me of some EC, it all fit well.

Thanks Ray/Tadpui/rpm61 - bass is rolled off to allow the kick in the lower area. Kick may be too loud or, bass needs less roll off or volume. I think bass is the hardest thing for us to mix. Finding that perfect eq and volume can be a challenge. I think Mike recorded 3 different basses until we settled on this one (Fender Jazz). Maybe we'll try some more delay or reverb or both on the guitar. It just has a bit of reverb on it....

This hangs together a lot better than V1. I think though there's still to much dynamic range range in the vocal. I'd like to hear it compressed pretty hard and then gain it up. That would serve to even it out and bring up some of the lower level that we're not hearing

Ok thank - We mixed this at Mike's so I don't have the project loaded but I think we're compressing about 70 on the CA2A with a gain of 45. Once I have it loaded I'll try that (or maybe some automation) :D

Remixed a few more things based on the last few suggestions. Let me know if this needs anything else.....
Same Link - here for convenience.
