Logic is more PRO compare to Cakewalk???

Hi!

Is it true or depend on what do you need it to do? Want to know what do you guys think compare by its features, compatability, and popularity...etc. Please share your idea.
 
Dumbil you're asking it in Cakewalk forum. I bet they (specially moskus) would die for telling you that Cakewalk / sonar is all the way better than Logic. :D
 
I like Logic, and it's midi implimentation is top-notch, but I prefer Sonar overall.

I won't go into all the reasons I prefer Sonar, but one of the factors I think everybody can agree on is that Cakewalk is not dropping their support for my computing/DAW platform of choice. That alone IMHO, is a big plus compatability-wise for me. :D I'm sooo pissed about that heavy-handed move by Apple. Microsoft would have gotten their ass sued off for pulling that crap. Mac can lick my sac.

As a Reason 2.0 user, I also like the non-brain-damaged implimentation of the rewire protocol in Sonar as well.
 
No offense here...I plan to switch from CWP9 to one of these programs since CWP9 can't give me what I want (or maybe I expected too much from it).

Just want to get some ideas about Sonar over Logic before making a decision...Anyway, going with Sonar won't make me start all over.

It's not about the software, but the person using it... ;)
and I mean that


But if you want the best, get Sonar. ;)
 
As far as I can tell:

Logic:
Pro British studios (probably an historical thing as early versions were rubbish)
Cubase:
Project studios (again British or Euro). Schools use it so I guess they don't hear about the competition.
Digital Performer:
God knows
Sonar:
America and people who want all of the above but in a sensible friendly interface.

I wouldn't say that it's the best one, but having tried the rest on several occations and couldn't get on with them, always reverted back to Cakewalk and since WDM drivers have come out, haven't looked back.
 
Only that the really pro studio either uses tape (!) or Pro Tools...

Why would you buy Logic anyways since it is now a Mac only app?

Emagic has discontinued any further software development for the PC platform now that Apple owns them...
