Hey I've been having trouble trying to load a cool edit pro session onto pro tools and keeping all my wave forms in the same positions. Does anyone know how to do this.

In cool edit you "should" be able to export and EDL (edit decision list), the EDL is a generic file which tells other software how to line up edits, fades etc etc. Its been a while since Ive used CEP2 so I can't recall if it has EDL export capabilities. If it doesn't and you plan on using CEP2 and PT back and forth you might reconsider using CEP2.

SoMm

'EDL Convert' is probably what you need but it's not cheap. Alternatively, mix down each track to an empty track and that will keep everything in place.

why do you wan to move your project from cool edit to pro tools?? The reason i ask isthat if you are using cool edit to edit each waveform, then use pro tools to mix the cleaned up waveforms, you way want to try doing the recording in protools formt he beginning. For example, i use sonar and cool edit, so i do my recording in sonar and then edit each tack on at at ime in cool edit (thanks to a very hand app that i found that lets me use cool edit inside of sonar). This way i have all of my edited tracks in their proper place in sonar, ready to mix.

You houls be able to find a similar app to link pro tools and cool edit.

I am looking to record in Sonar and edit my recorded wavs in Cool Edit (Adobe Audition) also. What program does this and where can I find it? Thanks

ya this program i found will defanately work for you. It is a program that actually edits the regristry and puts any program you want in the sonar tools menu.

Although i do have the actualy .exe file on my hard drive, i don't remembe the website it is located at. If you want i can email it to you or something. First though, do a search for "free" in the cakewalk forum. That's where i found it.
