Nice job. It all fits together really well. I like the flat picking guitar, it keeps it moving and provides some great fill for the vocals. The flute is really cool, reminds me of ...who else... Ian Anderson. In fact the vocals sound a bit like him too. Are you Ian Anderson?

Seriously, though I really like the bass sound, and I'm wondering how you got that sound. Also something wierd happens at around 3:12, it sounds like entire left channel drops out for the last few seconds, and the mix level jumps up a titch. Anyone else hear that?

I like the Tull vibe. I didn't notice any dropout, but it seemed a little left side heavy..probably the vocals were stronger on the left on my system, but it worked fine. Flute wasn't too hot either..sounded real good.

Sound quality is excellent, the best I have heard from your stuff. Flute doesnt seem hot at all, balance is very good.

Yup! Some weird knocking noise or something. You can always fade this tune out.;)

Very "Tullesk" which is very cool but don't care much for the (processed) drum sound. All in all, nice job.

Glad you like the song, guitar zero,

My wife thinks the flute is too upbeat for the song and wants me to replace it with harp. I half agree with her, so I will cut back on the flute and add harp.;)

The bass sound that you like is from a patch called XP-A 097 Ch. Jazz Bass from a Roland XP-30 synth.

I'm get a little more growl than usual this time by flat-picking the 6th string on the classical guitar and bending the note. (G) The strings are new and I'm getting a crisp attack. The bent G note on the way down to the E is I think what you're referring to. Jazz bass lets you play a little more staccato. ;)

Thanks, Riffmaster, Yeah, I'm recording the vocals in stereo and it's hard to get an even mix. I think the only way to do it would be to clone and reverse pan. I might try to even it out when I add some harp.:)

Thanks, David, I'll work on the fade out.:)

Thanks, COOLCAT.:)

Thanks, Simman, I might try to add some manual fills with the synth to get a more human sound. haven't spent any time with the drums. Where's RAMI when you really need him?:D

Thanks for all the suggestions, guys.:)

Hehe....As you've probably noticed, it takes me a while to get to a thread.:)

You're a great songwriter and arranger. I love this tune. I can't imagine anything other that a flute playing that part, but you probably hear the harp just fine in your head. One thing I do hear is a banjo playing the picking part. Maybe not replacing the guitar, but doubling it at certain spots. The drums don't bother me on this. They're there, solid and not distracting.
All around, my favorite production by you.

A bit country for my taste, but I really liked the flute. Jethro Tull would be proud ;D
