Hello All. Spring is coming and so is the local carnival. My friends band is playing there and I am in charge of doing a live recording. The stage is one of those trailers where the side comes up and they play inside it. They have a P.A., but it is only going to be used for vocala, so nothing else is mic'ed. My plan is to take the direct outs of the mixer and plug them into the recorder and use two mics placed somewhere in front plugged into the recorder. Would this be a good idea? Does any one have any mic selection or placement tips? Totally different ideas? Any input would be appreciated. Thanx

well i have sm57s and sm58s and im not sure about a recorder yet. what do you recommend for a recorder (or mics)

All you have is mics?

What kind of board?

Are you buying a recorder? Renting?

What is your budget?

If you buy the recorder is it only for live recordings?

Are you putting together a home recording rig?

ill be using a tascam 414 mkII recorcer, the board is a 6 ch. powered mixer
