Live mics for double bass

Kind of an esoteric question, but I'm a professional double bassist, and I've been using a combination of a piezo pickup and the AMT S25B bass mic mounted on my bass for live shows. Recently, I got a second bass with the same pickup, and I tried using an old battered SM58 positioned between the bridge legs and pointing down at the top. The funny thing is, so far, it seems to sound better than the AMT, so I thought I'd do a little experimenting. This Sunday, I'm going to audition a Beta 57a on a gig and see how it does, but I was just wondering what other dynamics out there might be worth checking out as well? The big issue with live jazz is always drum bleed into the bass mic, which the AMT deals with well. Still, I'd like to look into the best and most rugged of dynamics before settling on one for each bass. Thoughts?
 
An sm58 put in a sock and stuffed underneaqth the grill does surprisingly well on bass in live situations:)
 
It's a double bass, not a Chevy.
I'm thinking beyer 201 (I think the beta 57 maybe a little bright), or, if ya have access to phantom, an oktava sdc or even a marshall(whatever the 600 # is this week)
Finally, but probably the best idea, if you can get a hold of an ATM25 it has excellent low end response and great rejection (hyper cardioid)
 
I believe I've read somewhere of people using a Beyer M88 under the bridge, but I could be mistaken. It also might've been for recording purposes, which may or may not make a difference.
 
I once ( & the only time) mic'd a D/bass with a senny tie clip on the top of the F hole on the E & A side along with a cheapy bridge mic

the bridge mic didn't work......................still baffled

but the senny was awesome
