Hey everyone,

Check out my new song "21st Century Caveman". I began listening to some electronic music again, and it inspired me to mix together this song. I love the groove of it all, mixing together metal guitar, samples, electronic and accoustic drums. All rhythm guitars are my ibanez geo 7 string and the solo is first take (a little rough) on my carvin.
enjoy :D

Damn, I don't know if it's because I just bought a new surround sound system, but this sounds really cool. Bass sounds excellent, a lot of cool sounds/samples in there, guitar tones are cool. I Especially like the wah wah solo later and the songwriting - stays interesting throughout. Cool stuff man, no nitpicks from me, you'll have to wait for someone else I guess :p

sweet ...... Cool song .do you have any vox to it? Sorry I dont really see anything wrong with the mix either. Whether thats good or bad, dont know. Anyways, good work. Peace

On second listen to it, i think the snare could use a little more reverb

I also forgot to explain whats different about the 7 string in this tune, ive tuned the g string down to f# and theres a capo on the 2nd fret.

Is this the wrong place to be posting these songs? Im sort of realizing that this is a mixing section, rather than a reveiw/critique thing, where do you guys post your tunes?

Well in discussing your mix you will get a critique;) This is really the only forum on the board for posting songs.

It sounds really good. The solo is great and I like the tone. as for the rythem guitar it sounds a little mellow in tone to me (not enough bite) maybe a bit over processed, but it definitely works. Just my personal veiw. That's more a matter of taste

Sounds cool, Like that bass tone to. Sounds good on my system.

Why couldn't there be stuff like this in the 90's?

Then I would have enjoyed that decade! :D

Music is fine but I think the dynamics are flat and the volume so loud it gets tiring to listen to... sorry, what was that you said?

I really liked it, I don't know what else to say. I'm not really even a fan of metal/electronic.

Good song.

Cool.

Around the 0:41 - 0:55 part, there's this phased/flanged windy growl behind the guitars. How did you do that? I'm always trying to add similar sound to my pieces and doesn't quite work out.

You've got yourself a very nice piece.

Are the gits mic'd or DI'd?

Around 2:20 - 2:27 sound nice. :)

Thru-out the piece there's this haunting hits going on. That sounds cool. I don't know how to get that sound.

Good solo'ing.

It's far too loud. The peak meter stays in the red. My first suggestion is to turn it down. The only thing such levels will do to many listeners is cause ear fatigue.

I really liked the cut, and the others too. What are you using for drums on your tracks?

Thanks for the responces guys, really means alot when people take the time to listen.

As for vocals, i have lines I hear all the time in my head, but i cant sing the style myself. Just imagine a mixture of Trent Reznor, Chino Moreno, Maynard from tool, I Mother Earth, A little nirvana, and a little incubus. :p just to give an idea of the vocal style.
