This is the first mix I've done for my bands new EP. Please give some feedback to my mix. I know it isn't as loud as it could be. I haven't really done anything big to the overall master track.

Thanks!

First, this is a nice piece, a little Taylor Swiftesque, but mostly very well done.

I downloaded the file, and cut 1600hz .03 octave 5db, and added 250 hz .05 octave 3 db, and the vocal sounded clearer.

The guitars are just too hot, and need attenuated to give the vocal just a little more attention, otherwise, this is impressive.

Good luck, I hope this is helpful.

This is really nice... How did you record the guitars (mics, DIs, amps used etc)? Vocals are great but want to come out more so we can here them nice and clear. Think this is more a personal opinion but id have the snare stand out more to in the mix too.

I really appreciate it, and i was kinda thinking the same thing about the guitars. I always have the problem or having them too hot when im mixing songs i play guitar on haha. I also agree on your EQ suggestion. It does bring them out quite a bit!

Thanks again!

I used an Shure Beta 57 on the guitar. And the amp was a Peavey 6505, with a custom Avatar cab (Celestion Vintage 30s.) And we used a Fender 72 Thinline Telecaster. I've had mixed feelings about the snare. Cause at first it up just a little, and then it stood out a little too much, so i brought it back down a bit. Mastering might bring out the punch of it a bit. Or maybe i need to turn it up, and just roll a little high end so it doesnt stand out so much?

Yeah man, other than minor things this sounds really good. Not really my cup of tea but it sounds quite good.

Well still thank you for appreciating the art of what im trying to do!

Very current sound. I can totally see this playing on the radio. You did a very good job. I'm not particularly a mixing guru so I can't find anything to comment on in terms of providing feedback to help you improve your mix, but thought I'd let you know that it sounds really good to me.

Thanks man! I appreciate that a lot. I'm excited to madge these few changes and get it mastered!

Very nice song Guitars are a little hot at the start and Vocals could come up a notch as they could stand out a little more, But it might be the crappy speakers I am listening on. Anyway nice job on this one

I was trying to make it sound like it was just coming out if reallllllllllly Crappy speakers st the beginning. Still kinda messing with the eq on the guitars haha
But I'm gonna try and part the new edited version here soon. Thanks fur the input!

Sounds great. It's not really my thing, but I can definitely appreciate it. The only problem with it is not just the snare but the drums in general kind of sound like 'background'. A minor issue. Nice job.
