I wonder if anyone of you know something about
the latest Linkin Park production. What equipment
they used to get such great guitar sound, beside Messa and a PRS guitar.

I have a project coming in with a very similar sounding guitar desires.

Anyone

alot of chours 2x and compression i would think, sound like it anyway...

I read an article with the guitarist a couple of months ago and everything seemed to be straight forward. 4-6 layers-dual rectifier-and a variety of guitars. He mentioned that he spent more time tuning than tracking.

I think the real key is getting the BIG FAT HUGE bass guitar sound. It seems to me that on some songs the bass gets the sub-frequencies and on others the kick gets it (probably a sine wave tucked under the kick)

Get an awsome sounding bottom end and the guitars are easy.IMO

Thanks. Is it possible to read the article on the net somewhere?

And I also think the bass is very important in this kind of production. If nothing else I'll go for some extra sub bass sinth layer to suport the bass deepness.

Keep on posting...

The article was in Guitar one or some other Tab magazine. Check to see if guitar one archives it's articles online.
