I fell in love with the LINE6 212 or whatever in the music store. I probably played around for a couple of hours and just love the tones. Just curious if anyone knows anything about them?
I own the AX2 212, have gigged with it a few times already, and recommend it. It takes a while to set the sounds the way you like, and this really needs to be done at the band's volume level, especially balancing the volumes between patches. Once you learn how to tweak it you can really make it your best friend on stage.
Don't be discouraged by all the "tubes versus digital" wars that have been raging on these and other forums for the last few years. The tube fanatics will claim, rightfully so, that there's no substitute, and the newer generation of more experimental and, in some cases, more open minded users will rave over the flexibility and control of your sound that these amps offer.
As for reliability: well, after saying all this I must confess that my amp had to go in for service this weekend for warantee work. Based on the roughly 140 or so positive reviews this amp has received at harmony-central.com, I must conclude this is not a frequent occurence. Go check out what others have to say there, if you haven't already. They're not paid advertizements from manufacturers, but typically frank comments from other amp owners. here's the link to user reviews of this specific amp:
