hey, I was wondering what tipe of mixer would you need that has phantom power, and for evry input, has a seperate output, with something like 8-16 channels. (each line has it's own level, eq, pan exct.

Budget: cheep
the line outs preferable RCA (but 1/4 " or XLR is fine to)
would be nice if the levels could be controlld by the PC (i love watching them zip back and fourth) but by no means is that a necessity.

budget is my main concern
(and low noise/dist. of cource)

ps. it's to feed into a or two Delta 10/10LT(s)

A line mixer is a mixer which takes line level sources.

It sounds like you're after a control surface which integrates with your DAW software as well as a unit which has mic pres/line inputs.

You could try the Alesis firewire mixers?

If you want motorised faders your cheapest option is probably the Tascam firewire control surfaces. I use the FW 1082 and i love it, if you wanted 8 mic ins you'd want the 1884.

You don't need direct outs for each channel with these types of unit as all channels get sent directly to the comp via firewire.

EDIT: I see you already have the interface, in which case there's no way you're getting those flying faders. :D

I like the Yamaha MG series mixers, you might have to use the inserts as direct outs though, mixers with dedicated direct outs tend to be a bit more expensive.

If you're really broke you'll just have to go with Behringer or something.

you meen with my current interface i can't have motorised faders :( but there sooo cool! I'm cinda liking the looks of that tascam... a bit more than i was hoping 9i was hoping staying under $500 can. oh well thanks for the refrences.

and i was wondering, lets say i do get a firewire (or usb 2.0 or whatever) mixer, does that still work with my delta, so that i still have the inputs of my delta + the inputs of the mixer?

EDIT: I just did some reading on a yamaha mixer, if i understand correct the input I/O can act a an output for its corosponding line? or is it only for adding FX?

btw. I don't see what you guy's have against behrenger, i'm currently using a mixer by them (UB1204-pro) and it works damn well for it's price.

If you go with something like the tascam it will act as your audio interface as well so you can sell the Delta. Coincidentally i sold a Delta 1010LT before buying the Tascam.

The only other way to get motorised faders on the cheap is with one of the Behringer BCF controlers but this is a control surface only so you still need your seperate audio interface to get signals into the comp plus mic preamps etc.

I seriously think the Tascam is the best deal out there if you want/need all of those features.

And yes, if you insert a 1/4" jack half way into the insert (until you hear the first click) it will work as a direct out.

Thxs, the behringer is for midi (i'm not a big fan of midi unless I'm desperate) but I really don't want to get rid of the delta (I only got it a week ago) is it not possigble to combine a firewire miver with a PCI sound card? and still get all the channels from both units?
