Loony Tunes

Loony Tunes, loco, not good at all............

actually, i'm not a fan of the 2000 series, so i'm really not surprised you aren't happy with it. before you jump to the line six, try out some others. i dont consider the 2000's "the marshall sound". if you're looking for that, i highly suggest the sovtek mig. buy that, go to avatarspeakers.com and pick up a nice cabinet, and with the money left you can get an md421 to mic it. this brings me to my next question: what are you recording the amp with?

first, thanks for reply!

I have a sm57, 2 spb1, delta1010lt sound card+dmp3 and a behringer mixer (of no use...)

What's the price of the tone navy?

If you want modeling, get something in ADDITION to a good tube amp. Don't sell a tube to go strictly modeling.

That being said, I have a Mesa Dual Recto, Marshall JMP1, and a Line 6 Vetta II.

The Vetta will not EVER replace my Dual Recto. If the Dual Recto goes, it will be replaced by another tube amp.

get something with speakers.

What head has speakers? A combo?

If you need it for playing live also, go with the PodXT pro with a power amp, otherwise just get the bean model for recording only.

Since you must of already know what you are 'not happy with' ...then I guess you have a good idea about what sound you may be happy with. So, I'd say to pick the best 'modeler' for your taste you simply need to take your guitar to the store (if there is a such option for you in your area) and try-play .... if not, then it's pretty much like 'blind pick' .... on-line samples are for the most misleading, listening to somebody elses' track also may be misleading... not your guitar, not you playing etc...
and then again, for the Bigger picture ... moving from a nice tube amp to a modeler is a SIN :p , but, yeah it may give you sort of 'easier way' to record something which you'll be happy with...
imho

Trade your JCM200 for a JCM800, then buy a V-AMP for $100 bucks.
Then you have the best of both worlds.

JCM800 / V-AMP - best of both worlds.

ha-ha! good one :D

Do you like the sound of the 2000 when you're playing, and just can't capture a good recording? Is this a switch to modeling just to avoid recording problems?

well i don't hate the jcm2000 sound, but i don't really like it, it's not like the mesa or triple x, and the cab speakers have some kind of cardboard sound with it, and it's a pain in the ass to record, so i guess i'm kinda fed up with it...

I'm looking for something that won't cost me anything but will sound much better and thought about flextone since a band i know has these amp and theuy rock

I don't know about the actual Line 6 amps, but I couldn't recommend a Line 6 POD enough! Awesome sound!
