Line 6 toneport ux1

I'm a guitarist and i play in a band.
Recently, we've started coming up with out own tracks, but as our drummer's drumset is indisposed, we've had to use softwares line Beatcraft etc.

ive been recording guitar through my pedal to my soundcard for some time now but the quality is just not upto scratch.

Would the Toneport suit my needs? (within a budget obv)

I have a UX1. The bundled gearbox software gives you access to some of the POD Xt tones which some people rate though I personally still prefer to record a "real" amp any day. You can of course plug your existing rig into the UX1 but unless current sound card is really bad then don't expect miracles as it won't change the tone on it's own.
