Hi, i am going to buy either the POD 2 or the J-Station, however i haven't been able to find out the real difference, the price says alot, but is the POD2 really that much better? $200 better???

Thanks
aL

Depends on your style

I have the J-station and do plan on getting the pod 6 pro as well

if you just to acoustic or rock/blues...go with J-Station, its got great clean sounds and it also has bass sims too!

great price for 140.00

it also has the Boogie Rectified which sounds really good

Ive used it alot and for the price i was very impressed,

however for me i do alot of different types of music and the pod has some stuff i like as well, plus its rackmounted to take on stage.

So it really depends on what you do

but if your looking for a great sim amp for 140.00 you cant beat the quality of the J-Station

Take "your guitar" to your nearest music store, grab a GOOD headset and try them both...

but remeber to take "your" guitar with you, it is what you will hear when you get home..

good luck

Yeah, but i am looking to record through them, which would be better for recording purposes? Although i think as soon as i find a shop which has both, or even one of them, i will test them out
:D

no, the Pod isnt worth the extra $$$....side by side at GC for 2 hours when they were the same price, i picked the J-Station...now at $149 it would have taken me 5 minutes to decide....

if you wanna lay down that much, go for a GT6 ......

yeah, those GT6's are sweet. I just got the j-station, it's great for the price.. but seeing marc seal with that gt6 makes me want one sooo bad.

I have to say go for the J-Station - at $149 you can't beat it. One thing I really like about it is that I can connect up to my soundcard with its SPDIF output and record a CLEAN signal from that input (stereo) and also come out with a wet signal out the main outputs. I end up getting 4 of the same guitar tracks in n-track and can really play around with them. Also, the J-Edit software for manipulating your own sounds is pretty easy to use as well. The only thing I wish it came with was a foot peddle.

I suppose its a matter of taste. I have a POD and a J Station and to my ears the POD sounds better. YMMV.:D

Whats this GT6 ??
sozz but i'm a newbie doobie when it comes to these things, not for long though :D

Just thoguht i'd let you all know that yesterday i took my beloved guitar into a music store, and walked out with a j-station in my back pocket, a few cables and a £200 hole in my wallet, oh yeah and a new pair of roland headphones on my head!

cheers for the info guys

Be sure to hook up the J-Station to your computer with a couple of MIDI cables... the real fun is downloading all the new settings from their website and customizing your own settings with the PC editing program!

MIDI cables, i thoguht i could do it all through the S/PDIF line ??? damn, that means i need to get sum midi cables then, ahh crap, and a new soundcard!

lol oh well it is for the good of my j-station!

cheers
