Lexicon or T.C. Electronic?

What company do people prefer for signal processing? Lexicon or T.C. Electronic? Or any others?
 
Both!

I couldn't make up my mind, since they both make world class units, so I got a TC M3000 and a Lexicon PCM81. The TC 'verbs and ambiences are incredibly natural, and eminently tweakable. The Lexicon 'verbs are a bit more lush and surreal, but the unit really shines on chorus/delay/pitch shift and multi-effects combinations. Either one could easily serve as my only processor (as long as I had free tracks to print the returns!).

Yo Ty, if U have the opportunity to A/B them at your nearest,
available music retailer, give 'em both an audition!
I use the Lex 500 but have heard the TC used on songs here produced by members! Both are excellent units with both offering different effect parameters on it's various "verbs that are adjustable!
 
Well, I can't afford the PCM81 now, and don't expect to be able to in the near future. I'm looking at the Lexicon MPX500, or another unit in that price range. T.C. Electronic is more expensive isn't it? Anyway, I'm sorta just typing now, not with really any specific purpose, wow.
 
both Lexicon mpx500 and TC M-One XL should be around $400-450. The first (big) step up after this would be Lexicon PCM91 vs. TC M3000 (both around $2000).

As soon as I'm gonna get a reverb unit, I'm definately gonna a/b the mpx500 with the M-one xl. Up til now I have only heard the m-one (not the xl) in a live environment on a female jazzsinger. I liked it very much. I didn't like my nephew's Yamaha REV500 that much. He's a singer (tape artist).

But Tyler, be sure to do the mpx500 vs. tc m-one xl-check!
 
I've got a M3000 and love it. I also have a girlfriend and love her.
















:) I'm a nice guy (and a girlfriend costs more than a M3000, but that you can turn off)
 
That's the one thing I hate most about buying things over the phone. I guess I'll have to convince my local guitar store that I REALLY want to buy it from them, and hear them there. GOD I HATE LOCAL PLACES!!! They don't have anything, except peavey, yamaha, mackie, and behringer. The only thing I buy there are stands because it's cheaper when shipping is taken into account.
 
Well, im going to this music center in seatle soon, I'll try and listen to them there.
 
I may be outclassed in the reverb wars, but I get by with TC electronics M300. I considered Lexicon MPX200 seriously, but after reading the owners manuals of both, the choice was made. The M300 has balanced outs, is $50 cheaper, and thus far, appears to be a surprisingly usable FX unit. Works for me.-Richie

I was justing posting this question....

MPX200 or the TC M300?
IS there a way to use the TC M300's compressor and deesser at the same time...program??

I had this unit this weekend and like the sound of it, but it seems you can't program the engines?

very sweet sounding..but I haven't tried the Lexicon MPX200 (being discontinued at GC for $239).

I think that's a really good comparison/contrast.

I prefer the TC, because they sound believable / convincing; as if I had recorded in a nice space using good room mics.

The Lexi's sound great; like really good, professional reverbs, but like reverbs, nonetheless.
 
What are your opinions on the MPX1 (lexicon)? I picked one of these up at a guitar center sale for $350..
 
I have an MPX200, and I think it's OK. I'm considering swapping it out, though, for the new Kurzweil rack (I think the Rumour is the reverb unit, the Mangler is the multi-effects). They're more cake, but I've heard they sound excellent. Haven't been able to hear one personally yet, but I'm very tempted...you might want to seek one of them or read some reviews or see what the concensus on some of the boards are.

Just a thought.
 
I have both the mpx500 and the TC M1, I use the MPX more then the M1 but I really like both, there both very good for the money.
 
M300

I just go the M300 this weekend. $199
It sounds great to me and i'm still in gear lust..

..can't get no satisfaction......

Ex:
the unit has two engines.
each engine has "solo" effect selection, meaning if you choose compression on engine 1...you can't use slapback echo on engine 1....so no programming chains.
engine 2 has a different set of effects. but same "solo" selection.

My understanding/curiosity is the Lexicon MPX200 which has the options of placing say, compression/reverb on ch 1, compression/Hall reverb on CH 2. (just an example)

so for me I still need to buy a DMP3 and an RNC....and a nice reverb.
 
M300

don't take my post wrong...
the m300 is the greatest change i've heard in my home setup for a long time.

i just wish i could use all of the effects at the same time!

seriously thinking about buying another unit...and dropping the RNC, but haven't played with the TC M300 compression enough yet.....
