Hey guys. New to the forums. I had a quick question. I've had a small studio for a while now. Usually I just ran my FireStudio Project into Sonar Professional with no preamp or external processors or anything of the sort. Well, recently a friend of mine hooked me up with a DBX286 mic preamp/compressor and a Lexicon MX200, and I'm curious as to what would be the best way to connect and use these new pieces of hardware? As far as I can tell, it seems like I need to route my XLR cable to the "IN" on the dbx, then run a TRS cable to the line in on the back(marked return 1 on the FireStudio). Now for the Lexicon, I know it can be used as a hardware plugin and I have installed the software. How should I hook the lexicon up to my interface? I have it connected via USB to my computer so I can control it via the software. My computer doesn't have RCA jacks to use the digital ins/outs on the lexicon. Will the S/PDIF ins/outs on my FireStudio work the same as if they were on my soundcard?

The Lexicon has a USB connection. Isn't that how it's meant to be connected when used as a plugin?

I don't see either of those things doing anything that can't be done in the DAW. They might be handy for a live performance.
