i've heard good things about the more expensive lexi's...but is this one any good?

the roland, i've heard nothing about...anyone know if it's better than the mpx100?

thanks.

thats the Srv3030 on that vocal. and a tiny bit of deal from, lol, the mpx100. no joke, just a coincidence.

the 3030 is an amazing unit. huge complex editing of reverb, the lexicon mpx100 is not editable really. the verbs in the 3030 are a lot better than the mpx100. i only use the mpx for delay becuase it's tap tempo, so i can dial in something quickly.

check it out.

I believe Longwave studio. THose were some rich reverbs on that song.

I've also heard alot about the older srv 330. I heard its even better than the 3030. Either way, the srv series rocks.

you even get balanced i/o with the roland and the facility to store patches on smart media cards instead of doing sysEx dumps. i think the srv is an excellent unit. if there was one snigger at it, id say it needed more variety of presets.but that'sjust me.

the lexicon does have some ok verbs in it, but the srv has been compared to the mpx500 and the mp1, that's how good it is.

get one. you shouldn't be dissapointed. i personally think i got a nice sense of warmth when i used it on that track i posted here.

cyan, i agree with you in a way. so far, i have had more sucsess with hardware than software reverb. i haven't found a plug in that has satisfied me totally.

After reading the posts here on the Lexicon mpx 100 and Roland SRV3030 I decided to see what the SVR3030 is selling for since everyone seems to like it a lot. It turns out that Roland is discontinuing the 3030 and I found it at zzounds for $229.00. Guitar Center has the mpx 100 for $179.99. I'm currently using a Behringer Virtualizer Pro. Not knowing what any other reverb unit sounds like would I notice a big difference if I got the 3030 or even the mpx 100? If I would, is it possible to describe the difference?

my mpx100 broke after about 10 hours use (and was out of warrenty)...so that shows you how much I used it in a year. Lexicon wanted $90 to fix it, so I passed.
So...if anyone has a cash offer...it is for sale CHEAP:D :D :D
you CANNOT adjust the cheapie Lexicon. I would pass. The Roland sounds like a much better deal.
On another note, I have a couple of Alesis wedges, which are VERY adjustable, and sound half decent to me. I see them for 100 bucks all the time on Ebay. That would be my first choice.

man, you will definitely hear the difference between the 3030 and the virtualizer. the 3030's reverbs are very crisp, smooth, rough, hard, whatever you want to make it do.

the reverbs sound more pro in the 3030. it has a 24bit resolution with an optional digital out board (allthough, personally i woudln't bother, it has balanced XLR's anyway).

the 3030 has an excellent large screen display with 3 real time controls to tweak the verb really quickly. you can get a diagram of how the verb will decay on screen, and all the verbs can be grouped into vocals, drums, ambience, stereo, fx, etc.

no need for sys ex dumps, it has smart media storage. it also has modulation effects....you cant go wrong.

it really does sound good. better than the mpx100. allthough there is a really nice patch on the 100 (i think it's patch 7 on the special fx section).

in my opinion, roland should have marketed this unit a bit more and if they'd put the price up, im sure a lot more people would have taken this unit VERY seriously. take advantage of the cut price, go and get it!
