I just purchased a Core2 card. I love it so far. Does anyone have one of these card? If so, do you like it? Is it a good card? Why are there 8 outputs? Thanks!

dispite the bad rap the core2 used to get i actually think its a good card now. the converters are much better now in the 2.12 version. i have had no problems with it and i got it for a steal at $179 at mars in nashville. you can use the 8 outputs for alot of different
things out to adat, monitors, tape, cd, or just send something wherever you want it. i like the lightpipe feature i run my fostex vm200 digital board via lightpipe 8 channels at a time. if you were recording to adat you could use this feature as well. enjoy.

Your system

I'm thinking of getting a Lexicon card like the one you have. But I don't know if it's worth it with the system I have.

What are the specs of your system?

I have the Core 2, & if you have a system that it will peacefully co-exist with, It's a sweet deal. It won't work with the older Athlon systems, though there have been reports of it doing well with the newer chip-sets. It does a pretty good job in my K6-2 500 system, though the performance is not as stable as it would be with a Pentium II or III. Lexicon REALLY means it when they say "For Pentium systems only" - (they're pushing it for Mac now though.) The sound has been described as "pristine" by some users and I tend to agree, though I can't compare it to other pros-umer setups.
Again, if you can get it to work properly it's a sweet deal. Lots of great features for the $.

I just bought one a week ago... It REALLY opened my ears. I'll never use a consumer grade sound card for recording again. If this sounds this good at $179 I wonder how the Pro Tools Digi001 sounds.

I'm shopping for a sound card for my Mac (B&W G3) and the price on the lexicon caught my eye, any feedback on how they're doing on higher end Macs (OS 9.1)

Thanks
