I could be wrong - and if I am I'm very sure someone will correct me,

but I get the impression the 100 is a "duel mono" effects unit. The 110 is an actaul stereo effects unit

I believe the main difference is the 100 was 16 bit and the 110 is 24 bit.

from what I can tell, both are 'true stereo', the 100 is 20 bit & the 110 is 24 bit. Any other difference? What is the 'Lexichip'? It seems this is something the 110 has and the 100 doesn't.

the 110 includes a bottle opener and leather punch. watch it cut through this can and it can still slice a tomato like this!

Get yourself a TC Electronic M-300 and forget the cheaper Lexicons! ;)

So I'm biased... I've used the M300, own a M-One XL and have a friend who has a Lexicon MPX100. I also have a bunch of Lexicon and TC impulse files in my PC. M3000, M5000, PCM90, PCM91, 480L etc.

IMO, at the bottom end of the market, the TC's smoke the Lexicons. At the upper end it is more a case of... "Do you prefer the Lexicon sound or the TC sound?"

To kind of sum it up, if you want more of a nice sounding 'reverb effect', then go for the Lexicon. If you want a sense of space and 'air' go for the TC.

Good Luck :)

M-300 - Balanced?

Pundit, that TC M-300 sounds like a great alternative to the cheap Lexicons. Does it have balanced ins and outs???

Yes, on 1/4" TRS.

Go here for the full specs...

TC M-300

Cheers ;)

I've got to agree- after checking outy the specs on the m300 & doing a search on this bb, I think I'm definitely going for that over the Lexicons.-Thanks & I'll let you know how I like it.

Before you go and spring for that M-300, you might want to consider the M-One. 8thstreet.com has them for $289, while the M-300 still costs $249 US at most places. Why the dramatic price drop of the M-One? The M-One XL is out. I'm not sure of the differences between the M-One and the M-One XL, however.

I'm researching the two to figure which one to buy next week. Anyone have any feedback on the differences between these two?

competing prices

Not only is the M-300 $199 at MF, if you use the lowest price quote request at AMS, they'll respond with a matching price. I think shipping is maybe a buck cheaper there too.

I ended up springing for the M-One XL. 8thstreet had it for $349. Musicians Friend's shipping could not make up for the $50 price difference. ZZounds refused to honor their price-matching policy, which kinda shocked me, so I ordered from 8thstreet.

Disclaimer: Don't get on my case about ordering it from a non-sponsor because I order plenty of stuff from the ads here, and always give sponsors first crack.

I'll let you guys know how I like the M-One XL. Sorry for somewhat derailing this thread away from the M-300 and Lexicon stuff.

it's on the way

My bass player ordered an M-300 today, thanks for the tip!
