hi y'all.

I'm setting up a pc system so that i can edit ADAT tracks, submix 8 tracks on hd for mixdown, master, and burn CDs. Through this BBS, I've come to understand that I need something like; 258RAM,PIII,2 HDs,650+mhz. My brother and I are looking at building it ourselves (he does that kind of thing).

I've seen alot of negative things here about the core2, esp. its problems w/ certain drivers. Right now it can be had for $179US new w/ breakout box. SOMEDAY I'll get a LYNX1 but rightnow, i just want decent conversion and lightipe I/O at a decent price.

I use an analog board and i like to use outboard processors, but I'd probably use HD tracks submixed to my mixer, so 2 out 2 in 2 digital works for me.

The core 2 is a limited offer, so time is a factor.

Will I be screwed building around the LEX? Anyone use the Dakota setup?

thanks.

Hi, when you wrote:

you answered your own question!

I dont know the Lex, but I have read lots and lots
of negative stuff about it. I wouldnt buy
a product that has a negative reputation like
the Lex, no matter what the price.

Why do you think it is so cheap now? Cheers, David
