Levels for session drummer

Hi, I use session drummer 3 in sonar x1 for my drums, I record all my guitars and vocals peaking at -12db and I was wondering that should I attentuate my session drummer 3 signals to -12db when fader is at 0 before I start mixing.

Sounds like a good plan.

I use addictive drums with Protools and have found that the stock settings are usually far too hot.

I turn the faders down in addictive drums so that the Pro Tools tracks peak around the same place that I would let real drums peak.
