Hello, a new song I have worked on. I tried to get a lot of guitars and energy in the song. Let me know your thoughts, mixed, arrangement ect. Thanks. The song is called "Everything"

Hey, figured I should check out your tune, since you checked out mine. The song rocks. Made me wanna drop some X, and roll around on the floor!! The kick drum is really wild. One comment would be that the vocal seems like it's sort of separate from the track, if you know what I mean. Maybe some effect or compression or something would make it more apart of the raging guitars and stuff. I feel like compared to yours, the little tune I just posted is kinda gay and fruity.

Thanks for the reply Macle, I know what you mean about the vocals. I have a hard time doing vocals, I think almost everyone does. Can you give me a common compression setting to start with? Glad you liked it.

Yeah, vocals are tough! It's all really hard, but I think vocals and drums are the hardest. I'm terrible with effects, I never really know what I'm doing. Do you have the Waves Ren Comp? There's a vocal preset that you could start with. I think the settings are attack: 5ms, release 50ms, ratio: 2.5:1 (though you might wanna raise that on a song like this, I would think on these kinds of songs they probably compress it a lot, probably at least 4:1 or even more), and then lower the threshold till your getting around 3 to 6db of reduction, then raise the gain to make up for it. On these kinds a songs, sometimes a little distortion on the vocal seems to work, too.

I don't know though, I've never really done a tune like this, maybe someone else can help out here.
