It's a cover of the Duke Nukem theme, originally written by 3D Realms. I hope you're at least reasonably familiar with the game, since this is the theme song for it! :)

Lee Jackson, the guy who wrote the original MIDI, said this was the first cover version he had heard which he truly liked. I know Megadeth did one, but I stayed much closer to the original, basing my notes on the actual MIDI file (then I added my own hacked in solo part section).

Anyway, it was more of a test of my recording setup and whatnot, so check it out. I even put the old Apogee fanfare music near the end, and one of the Duke3D level musics at the very end, just for kicks. Let me know if it sucks.

played very well. you have some tight musicianship. I wouldn't have chosen the duke nukem theme myself, but I appreciate anything done up to sound more metal.. as long as it's an improvement. Perhaps a bit of work on EQ and mastering techniques to bring some extra life to your mixes and work on your own material, I'll be looking forward to hearing it.

Thanks. I'm actually recording a CD and I have several other songs almost completed. The Duke Nukem song was the first one I did though, to test out my sound.

The only thing I have uploaded that I wrote myself is this file. It's really short and was just a test of multitracking, hence all the harmonized layering. :)

When I finish one of my original compositions, I'll post it.
