I'M BLESSED.......
Anyone who is interested you can start submitting your nominees for the awards we spoke of last week. I will still accept any suggestions, but I thought a list like this may be a start............

Artist of the Year

Any HR "member" who have the hottest cuts in 2006 PERIOD! ! !

Beatmaker of the Year

I think that is self explanatory..........

Producer of the Year

Any HR "member" who have produced at least one cut that we felt was hot, or who shows a great deal of "Producer Knowledge".........

Newcomer of the Year

Any HR "member" that has became a member in 2006 that came in like a lion and don't look as if they're going out like a lamb

Rookie of the Year

This should be an award to a "Newbie" who may still have a long way to go, but their potential speaks bounds of success

Mack of the Year

I think the most important one!!!!!!!!!
Whoever can submit the most pictures of naked hoes shoveling snow while....just kidding! I think it should be for the person that have most inspired us and have encouraged us to continue, even when we thought about quitting. One who have lent the biggest hand, when we were "Stuck like chuck". A person whose head (the one they think with!!!lol) is not too big and they represent what the Hiphop/Rap in HR is all about!

AND ANYTHING ELSE YOU THINK OF:

Can y'all please IM me with whatever nominees you have and I will keep a close tab and tally up all the winner 4 REAL!!!!!

To add on a bit:

Give me your top five (as a maximum) so I can compile a top five requested list. If you only have 1,2,or 3, that is cool, it will still count as a nomination.

Reason being, when all is said and done, I will make a poll thread and you can vote for your favorites individually and the poll will speak for itself along with any comments if you feel necessary.

Keep the nominees coming, I am tallying them up as they come!

I guess I'll go at least through the weekend to give other dudes who pop in every blue moon time to vote too!

bump^^^^bump^^^^bump^^^^

Anymore?
I'll go with whatever I get, so keep the coming..........

Here is a bit of a revision, based on suggestions from HR fam that makes sense. Two of the categories will be merged to form only 4 categories, which will be:

1.ARTIST/SONG OF THE YEAR
2.BEATMAKER/PRODUCER OF THE YEAR
3.ROOKIE/NEWCOMER OF THE YEAR
4.MACK OF THE YEAR

For the people who end up voting, but are unfamiliar to the nomnees work. Most of the have links, so feel free to check out some of their arsenal. For everyone who have submitted nominees, I got you and Thanks! For those who have not, I am still waiting and will leave it open for another week......

^^^ LOL

I'll perform too if I can be responsible for Janet Jacksons wardrobe malfunction. :D

1 more week eh? how many votes do you got so far? I still gotta submit for the rest.

I have various votes from about 6 people. I figured I'll tally the most requested top 5 in the different categories next Friday or sooner if nothing comes in between then.

Hey I also saw that beat maker & producer are on the same category. I would consider them different, since the beat maker strictly makes beats of course, and the producer/engineer does everything else really like mixing stuff down and all that. just my opinion that may or may not count lol

That is true!
Mostly everyone sent Producer and Beatmaker seperate. Those who did not, which I believe are two people, send me a beatmaker list and a producer list....

I'm just trying to incorporate requests so we all are on the same page.

To be even more technical the producer produces the song, the engineer engineers the session. :D ;)

By today's standards in hip-hop the term producer is used loosely, it usually describes the beat maker when it's being used (i.e. Produced by: Timbaland) when infact that's all Tim did was make and mix the beat in MOST cases. Hip-Hop changes the meaning of everything LOL....

It should be worded "Beat produced by" ____________

Because taking it as the term is defined:

2. to bring into existence by intellectual or creative ability

They did produce "The Beat".......
When most Hiphop artist accept a beat from someone, who produced it. They are done with that person and may have say Puffy come in and produce the song which is mainly instructing the direction of the song. But then there is those who do it all from the beat to the arrangement. That's really a producer!
But that is a point well taken!

Yah, but I've heard & seen a LOT of "producers" that do both and they really suck... Then there's the real producers, who take anything given to them, and shape the arrangement into a million dollar song, with the help of the engineer of course lol. In hip hop it really is a broad term... The producer will give or take performances, arrange them to make them a hit, think of how to attrack the crowd, and all that. A beat producer may be well skilled in making beats, but lack in actual production of the track as a whole. Then there's those producers who lack at making a bomb ass beat, but can arrange the song like magic. If you listen to the radio down here in Texas, you'll see what I mean lol. They got some b/s in there, and the beats are crap, and so are the lyrics, but production keeps everyone listening to the same b/s daily lol. Of course there had to be something there in the first place that can catch the user... IDK WTF it is with the music & how the F it actually catches on to some of these people, I think they might be mentally challenged lol. "Peanut Butter & Jelly" type tracks.. that sh*t is so annoying. ok now I'll be rambling on and on about how stupid much of the mainstream is... It could be SO MUCH better, and have a lot of potentals that it once did back then when it wasn't flooded with my chain hangs low and making car sound effects as the hook with your mouth.. ZZOOOOOOM ZOOOOOM ZOOMMMM, who the fuck goes into a club and start going zooom zooom zooomm??? BUT ANYWAYS lol, I'm not the greatest beat maker in the world, but I know I'll lay some tracks down @ the studio & produce/engineer them better than before lol.

I feel you on that Mind. The overall production of some of these silly ass songs keeps me listening sometimes too... I find myself saying stuff like "damn this song sucks but it was put together real nice" LOL I can't say that for a lot of the local shit here though, it just sux all around (they call it bounce music).

I've been out to Houston a few times and heard them playing screwed stuff in the clubs... I was like damn how are people supposed to dance to this when the tempo is like 48bpm...lol But it still sounds a lot better to me than Bounce music, then again most people who ain't from the DC area can't stand Go-Go so I guess it's all an acquired taste depending on where your from and what others around you like.

Just for fun, people should post links to their local music scene's in another thread that aren't nationwide mainstream songs (like Hyphy, Crunk, Go-Go, Screwed, Bounce and that disco/house music stuff they listen to in Baltimore...lol) and point out where it's from.

lol that's a good idea. There's not that many cats coming from Dallas, it's mostly every where else in Texas but here lol. The music that IS coming from here reminds me of this friend I had that was cracked the fuck up and trying to freestyle.. It sounded baddddd....
