Let me have it......How bad is it.

I'm open to suggestions.:D

No, seriously...I'm almost hesitant to mention them because the choices you made are just that...CHOICES.

See, I hear some mixes where like the ride is taking my fucking head off because it's 30db too loud, and I'll mention it, because I doubt that was a CHOICE...it was deafness on the part of the mixer, lol. But your mix is fine.

Personally, I'd run his vocal a smidge louder in the quiet part of the song, because it's got some low end in it and I think you could get away with it...I'd also cut down on the vocal verb after it starts getting heavier, and I'd use a different verb. It sounds like some kind of small "vocal room" verb that just doesn't sound natural to me, but again, that's just me.

About 2/3rds through the song, when there's nothing but 2 guitars...one hits on the right and it's then followed by one on the left, I'd run them damned near bone dry just for impact...and the delay seems muddy just on that one 3 second part of music.

Finally, the vocal - He's got a really strong voice, but there are several places throughout the song where I'd tune individual notes. He goes ever so flat in some places where it wouldn't be a big deal live, but since most of them are where he's holding out a note, it distracts a bit from the performance.

Thanks for the input.

Did I over do the low end and make too much mud.
Also raised level of kick and snare a bit.

Still gotta take some time and go thru all the vocal takes to pick out the parts parts, but I am going to do that with the singer.

Listening to this mix....vocals in the quiet part seem to sit better than the last version I heard...more even. Drums sound pretty good to me...I think I hear what Rami is saying in the quieter parts, but when teh music is louder, they fit better....if it's added reverb, maybe dry them out some during the quiet part to give them less room?

I cranked it up pretty loud, and to me, the vocals could be a bit dryer....they seem to have more verb than they need....

I say definitely bring up the distorted guitars. I feel like this huge thing comes in like it's gonna slap you in the face, but then is quiet and kinda poops out. Not too much though, but it just feels held back because it's kinda "supposed" to be a big contrast and come powering in, but doesn't, for me. Louder and out to the side, and I think the drums will still hold their ground in the middle just fine, and the vocals will be less prominent for that part given that. I'm listening on some low-end earbuds though, perhaps it sounds different over a real speaker, but that would indicate that there's some improvment to be done in the spectral balance of things.

On the whole, sounds pretty good, and the song works. Good work.

edit: I agree with some of the comments about the reverb.... try sending it as an aux with the wet to 100%, and adjust the leve of that. It has the sound as if the reverb is ON the vocals, when it might be more appealing AROUND them, if you can visualize that.

+1, Thanks Chris for saving me the time to type all this out.

Great Tune, BTW.

IMHO.....
The first part is a little dynamic (oops did I say that?) and I would slap some compression on it to even things out, blend better, and keep things from popping out like that guitar on the left.

The second part of the mix is good - nice and level throughout and the vocals sit really well in the mix.

Good perfromance by the band - the singer has a classic 2007 vocal style.

The hats and ride both seem just a little bright to me. Overall sounds pretty good to me.
