Let Me Describe The FMR RNC to You

Just in case you're thinking of ordering one.

First off, mine was shipped in an envelope. It's way smaller than it appears. Yes a padded envelope

It’s packaged in a little cardboard box smaller than a cigar box

The only writing on the box is done by hand with a magic marker

The start up manual is 4 pieces of paper stapled together

There is no on off switch

There are no balanced ins or outs

Why? .... As best as I can figure they don't waste money and then charge you for bullshit that you don't really need if you are shopping in this price range. Instead you get a really nice little compressor.

It's great! It’s simple to use and sounds great. I really like it. I just get a kick out of describing it.
 
That's interesting... sounds like a piece of junk to me!

In proportion I'm sure you are right. You probably own single cables that cost this much.

I'm just trying to make the best of what I have, and to have a few laughs at the same time. I was hoping to amuse a few readers while at the same time giving the unit a thumbs up.

Now that you rained on my parade I'm going to go charge an Avalon.
 
Blue is being sarcstic if you didn't notice the possible hundreds of RNC related threads where Bruce has recommended it.

Man....dont worry about a thing. You'd have to spend a chunk of serious change to do better than the RNC and even then, you'd most likely get "different" than "better."

i have to agree that the RNC sucks ass!!!! and the Shure SM57 is the most useless microphone there is.....:rolleyes: :D :cool: :p ;)

hmmmm, yeah, I dunno. I mean how good can it be if it came in a padded envelope?? No formed foam or nuttin? No fancy artwork on the outside of the box? No little check mark bullets marking off its features?

Makes me leary......:(
 
The RNC is downright dangerous!

Because when I received mine from www.mercenary.com
they included the Royer 121 ribbon microphone CD along with the
free ear plugs and now...I want one!
(must have been Fletcher's idea all along to get me hooked)

I'm glad you guys are enjoying yourselves while I'm slaving over a hot recorder.

While you're all joking around I'm trying to record with a 79 Strat that hums so loud you don't even have to turn the telephone off before recording.

I think it's the padded envelope?

The dude at my Sam Ash actually told me that! Except it was the 3630 instead of the Nano. I don't like Sam Ash, much rather shop at Mercenary :)

That's a good point, but there is no writing on the envelope to tell you which one it is???

I'm done with this cheap stuff. Does anyone have a really nice box that they want to sell? I'm talking with all the features mentioned before, you know, foam and everything. Contact me at
