I got my first tube amp earlier in the year (602) and I love the tones coming off my Strat and Jackson.
My LP is another story. The stock pickups make it sound too warm and muddy.
What's a hot pickup I can put on my Xmas list? Something with a little more definition?
 
a humbucking at the bridge, and a 70's dimarzio at the neck...seriously, you can find some killer older pickups collecting dust at your "local" git-repairman's shop--not the commercialized "pop" version of a guitar-shop...sometimes you can find them connected to shitty guitars at yard sales.
 
What flavor LP ya got?....if you have a Classic, the pups are ceramic, a different sound from alnicos on the Standards, Customs, Studios......some say the ceramics are muddy....some older (and re-issues) gits have P90's or Burstbuckers, or PAFs.......and they all sound different and have different degrees of clarity....

Keep in mind that tube amps were the only amps available when LP's made their mark on sound, and may be why Gibson kept changing the pups...different tones for different ears.....messing with the controls on your amp will go a long way in changing the sound of single coils vs the buckers your probably have on your Paul....gibs

Mine is a standard with the 490R and 498T.

I've got two amps. VS265 and the 602. This thing actually sounds more detailed through the VS but "grainy".

When I got the tube amp I thought I'd be blown away by the clarity and warmth. It's warm but it aint clear! Even of the clean channel the sound is too blended.
I'd like to be able to get ringing G, B and E's.

Any single coil recommendations?
