Lets say your sitting with your Les Paul in your lap like you're playing, you look down at the neck joint where the neck binding is above the body. Is the binding supposed to be in line with the body, or making a straight line with the body? The end of the neck near the neck pup on my guitar is angled out. Is that normal or does it vary from guitar to guitar?

Not sure what you mean. I'll look at mine when I get home tonight.

The neck and pocket are angled. The binding is of consistent width (well in theory), consequently the binding will follow the neck not the body. Is that what you mean?

Normal bud when looking down from above if you eyeball body binding, neck binding will look like its aboot 5 degrees or so uphill towards neck pup.:)

+1.
Following the center of the guitar body you will notice it's higher than the edges, a convex shape so to speak.
